How can the Hendrickson Method® help me?
Hendrickson Method® can benefit you whether you’re in pain, or seeking to enhance and fine-tune your body. If you feel limited by pain, injuries, weakness, tightness, loss of motion, or other conditions such as arthritis, HM can help you feel more freedom and fluidity in your body. If you want greater range of motion and enhanced athletic performance, HM can improve your range of motion and muscle tone. If you want to improve your posture and feel more balance in your body, we can help you through treatment and home exercises. In addition to being effective, HM is profoundly relaxing, providing an essential form of self-care and stress management.
I’m pregnant. Is it safe for me to receive care?
Yes! The majority of our treatments are done with you in the side-lying position (whether you’re pregnant or not), so we are highly skilled at working with women at any stage of their pregnancy. Jennifer is a certified prenatal and postpartum massage therapist, as well as a trained doula, and knows the necessary precautions for pregnancy.
I’m currently in pain. Is it appropriate for me to come in for treatment?
Yes! We are trained to work with injury and pain. In most cases, the healing prognosis is best the sooner you receive treatment. Contact us as soon as you feel a shift in your body, and we will help you determine if it’s best to come in sooner rather than later. We are also skilled to know when to refer to a doctor or other healthcare professional.
No. The treatment should not be painful. However, we may work on areas that are sore or tender. We will always work within your comfort level, as healing is most effective when you are relaxed.
Please wear comfortable clothes that are light and non-binding (please, no jeans). The sessions are performed with you fully clothed, and we generally do not use oil or lotion.
How often should I receive treatments in order to feel better?
Most people enjoy changes after their first session. Improvements are cumulative over time. We often recommend weekly sessions for the first 4-6 weeks to give your body a chance to receive the benefits, and then develop a plan for continued treatment. Your unique health history and lifestyle influence the pace of recovery. We will work with you on developing a treatment plan that suits your goals and lifestyles.
The BioMat is an FDA Certified Medical Device that we incorporate into most all of our treatments. It is filled with Amethyst Crystals and emanates Far Infrared Rays and Negative Ions for a deeply penetrating healing warmth. The BioMat helps relieve pain, reduces swelling, increases blood flow, and has been shown to destroy cancer and viral cells without harming surrounding healthy cells. It stimulates healing and regeneration of nerves and muscle tissue. A choice of BioMats is available for purchase through a link on our Products page. No. However, we can offer superbills if you choose to receive a chiropractic consult. Superbills allow you to submit a claim to your insurance company for direct reimbursement. Not all insurance plans cover massage therapy, manual therapy, or therapeutic exercise. Check with your particular plan and please contact us for more information.
Our fees are $100/hour. The initial consultation is usually 75 minutes ($125). Your initial session includes assessing your reason for seeking treatment, taking a history, and developing a treatment plan, in addition to your Hendrickson Method treatment.
Many people continue with 60 minute sessions, or vary with 60 or 90 longer treatments, depending on their individual choice.
Prenatal care sessions are between 75 and 90 minutes.

Yes! Bodywork makes an excellent gift. We want to share this work, so that as many people as possible can receive the benefits!
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and check at the time of treatment. You may also choose to pay via PayPal. If you choose this option, we will email you a PayPal request. There will be a $5 fee for the PayPal option.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to make a change, please be sure to contact us at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Otherwise, you will be charged the full fee for your time.
